Direct, manage, supervise and coordinate assigned operations and public services of one or more library facilities and/or programs; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions and outside agencies and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Assistant Director, Library.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Master's degree with major course work in library or information science from an American Library Association (ALA) certified institution, plus four (4) years of professional/managerial experience in an academic, public, school or special library to include three (3) years direct supervisory experience in a management and/or administrative capacity. Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License.

Principles and practices of library management, program development and administration

Principles and practices of library circulation, reference, adult services and children's programs
Principles and practices of supervision, training, performance evaluation and selection of staff
Oversee and participate in the management of the operations, services and activities of a library or a library program
Plan, direct, evaluate and coordinate the work of lower level staff
Select, supervise, train and evaluate staff
Oversee the implementation of support services at the library
Participate in the development and administration of goals, objectives and procedures
Interpret, explain and enforce City policies pertaining to library operation and function
Perform analysis of patron service operations and recommend modifications, analyze problems and identify alternative solutions
