The LPN works under the supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) in providing patient care to assigned patients. The LPN is responsible for assuring a safe, effective care environment, including the coordination of care, safety, and infection control. He/She provides health promotion and maintenance, including growth and development through the life span, prevention and early detection of disease for the patients served. He/She collaborates with others to integrate assessment and input of the patient, family and interdisciplinary team. The LPN provides guidance to others regarding practice, and may serve as a resource and mentor. The LPN integrates and communicates knowledge and sensitivity to the patient's psychosocial, spiritual, cultural and age specific needs. He/She practices within the boundaries of the Kansas Nurse Practice Act and organizational/departmental policies and procedures.
Graduation from an accredited licensed practical nursing program required
Previous healthcare experience required
Verbal Communication, Organizational, Ability to Multi Task and Prioritize, Customer Relations and Critical Thinking/Reasoning skills required
License, Registration and/or Certification:
Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure in the state of Kansas required
IV certification required
Healthcare Provider CPR (American Heart Association ONLY) certification required
