Accountable for the integration, validation and support of our Radio Access Network (RAN) products with a focus on LTE technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and verifying the system requirements associated with new LTE capabilities being deployed within the Radio Access Network (RAN) of several major wireless network operators. Test domains include the digital radio and controller, call processing, and operations, administration and maintenance across various eNodeB and small cell (Metro) HW configurations. Testing also includes the interworking of LTE with other RAN technologies. The engineer will learn the capabilities within each new release, and develop and execute test plans to meet the ambitious LTE technology development and commercialization commitments of our customers. Testing will be done in a dedicated lab in Murray Hill, NJ, working closely with systems engineers, developers, and testers in various global locations. Specific responsibilities include: ? Participation in Scrum teams within an Agile development framework? Reviewing system requirements and architecture? Understanding the capabilities and limitations of the product? Developing a test strategy and test cases ? Executing test cases and analyzing results ? Develop and enhance automated test scripts to have fully automated execution and analysis ? Execute automated test cases in a continuous integration framework and environment? Creating trouble tickets (CRs) for anomalous test results ? Investigating issues with developers, systems engineers, and other testers? Retesting to verify fixes ? Scheduling test intervals and tracking progress against commitments ? Documenting and communicating progress and status to management Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline; Master?s Degree preferred ? Strong technical, planning, and communication skills ? Experience working in an Agile and Scrum development environment is desired? An understanding of wireless system architecture and products, preferably with experience in software/system development or testing of complex wireless systems ? Knowledge of LTE, WCDMA, GSM, WiMAX, CDMA, EVDO or similar wireless technology? Familiarity with RF, data networking, or some aspect of wireless base stations, networks, or user equipment? Experience with network and packet analyzers, air interface analyzers, RF channel emulators, noise generators, and miscellaneous RF hardware? Experience with test case automation and scripting? Proficient with UNIX/linux and Windows PCs/workstations, which are used to drive the test environment.
This candidates will mainly focussing on supporting Core products comprising of the LTE network, including MME, PGW, SGW, SAM, NPO, etc. also referred to as ePC. Thsi person will be involved in testing of new software releases, hardware or features in the customer lab environment. The specific requirements pertaining to this job are listed below: 1. Expert knowledge of LTE architecture, network elements, and interfaces/protocols. 2. Develop test plans for regression, features and patch testing 3. Support testers by providing the needed expertise to setup the test environment, understand the test procedures and approve the test results 4. Support Sprint to conducts IOTs with 3rd party network elements (eNB, HSS, PCRF, CDF, CALEA mediation server, etc…) 5. Troubleshoot all issues and all IOT’s issue 6. Assist Sprint in troubleshooting 3rp party issues 7. Perform any needed configuration at ALU EPC/RAN (MME, SGW and PGW) to support any new testing 8. Assist Sprint with filling up questionnaires 9. Analyze the test results and provide recommendation to improve performance 10. Share technical expertise with Sprint team (IP, EPC procedures, 3GPP concepts) 11. Troubleshoot complex end-end issues 12 . Provide recommendation to improve KPI 13. Extensive knowledge and working experience in IP addressing schemes and subnetting, VRRP, LACP, MPLS etc required. 14. Experience in IP Multimedia Systems (IMS) is helpful 15. Must be a quick learner (without formal training), self motivated with outstanding customer interface, communication and advocacy skills. 16. The person is very flexible and is able to quickly adjust course in response to unexpected events or change in priorities.
