Job Summary

Responsible for preparing reagents in appropriate quantities and concentrations as specified in a multidiscipline science labs for the college. This position will also deliver each science experiment to the biology, microbiology, and chemistry classes at designated campuses. Ensuring faculty and students are able to perform experiments/assignments properly and safely.

Responsibilities

Prepare reagents and solutions for experiments. Label and package solutions for delivery. Deliver experiments and requested supplies. Receive and stock supplies and chemicals. Maintain inventories of supplies, equipment, and lab materials in the labs. Properly dispose of outdated materials. Prepare chemical waste and disposal forms. Recycle chemicals returned from labs. Monitor stocked chemicals for proper storage. Organize and maintain all labs. Assist supervisor with orientations. Develops lab schedules and trains new personnel as needed. Assist instructors in the lab. Keep lab free of food and drink. Security sensitive. Other duties may be assigned.

Education Requirements

High school degree or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred. Experience Requirements

Three (3) years experience in a science laboratory setting preparing reagents and solutions for experiments required. NOTE: Part-time experience will be counted as half of full-time experience; for example, two (2) years of part-time experience will equal one (1) year of full-time experience.
