Monitors students during open laboratory sessions and provides tutorial services to students in order to enhance academic progress and achievement in MT 101,102,105,210,214,215 and MECHA 201 and 202.

Essential Functions:
A. Oversees students during open lab times during weekdays and/or evenings as directed by the department coordinator.
B. Assists students with particular subject matter in content related to the MT/MECHA program curriculum during weekdays and/or on evenings as directed by the department coordinator.
C. Ensures that everyone present in the laboratory is adhering to the appropriate lab and industry safety standards.
D. Communicates with instructional staff and/or department coordinator as appropriate.
E. Maintains records of student contacts and other documentation as assigned by the coordinator.
F. Helps to maintain the cleanliness and organization of individual labs.
G. Assist in restocking consumables between lab courses to include the assembly and disassembly of student lab assignments.
H. Assist in preparing simulation displays.
I. Assist in maintaining equipment as assigned.
J. Assist department coordinator in program quality and accreditation activities.

Minimum Qualifications:
A. Certificate in Manufacturing Technology or appropriate degree and additional experience working in a laboratory environment.

B. Good interpersonal communication skills highly desirable.

C. Self-motivation skills and ability to work with little supervision required.

D. Qualified candidate must be functionally literate in reading, writing, and computation skills as well as computer literate or willing to learn.

B. Demonstrates a positive attitude and a team approach toward accomplishing program goals.
C. Responds to the functions of the position in an environmental setting which might include cold, heat, odor, dampness, dirt, fumes, dust, oil, grease, noise, or vibration on a frequent basis. Appropriate protective devices are available as required.
