Performs laboratory procedures following policies and protocols. Responsible for specimen collection, processing, distribution, and results delivery, and maintaining laboratory records, filing, charting patient reports on the medical record, and scheduling patients for specific procedures. Under direct supervision performs quality control, instrument/equipment maintenance and minor repair. Is able to recognize problems related to test performance notifying supervision as indicated.
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of course with externship in phlebotomy or equivalent
Ability to function independently
One year of experience in specimen collection (i.e. phlebotomy), specimen processing and distribution, or providing clerical assistance in a laboratory setting
Possess 6 months of clerical work experience
