Supervises and coordinates the daily activities of the four laboratories which comprise the Laboratory Section of the Water Quality Control Laboratory and Monitoring Branch, and assists the Branch Supervisor in administering various program activities of the branch.
Supervises, directs and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining and completing employee performance appraisals.
Supervises and coordinates the activities of the laboratory section which is engaged in the analysis of samples submitted by the Monitoring Section, WPC branches, and other County departments.
Administers the Quality Control Program for all four laboratories in the section; coordinates the WQC Branch Safety Program and Policies.
Coordinates general maintenance and repair for entire branch building including housekeeping functions, maintenance of building equipment and purchasing of building supplies.
Assists in the preparation of the annual operating budget for the Laboratory Section and the Administration Section of the branch; obtains required purchase order number and places orders with various vendors.
Assists in the preparation of technical reports and coordinates and directs special projects for various program activities of the WQC branch.
Assists in performing administrative duties of the branch including writing accident reports, documenting citizens' complaints, and communicating with industrial customers.
Assists in performing administrative duties of branch.
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field; three years of experience in chemical or biological analysis, or a related field. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Must obtain a State of Georgia Wastewater Laboratory Analyst license within twelve months of date of employment and maintain such license during employment in this classification. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
