We are continually growing and have a new opportunity for a results-driven Lab Support Supervisor to accomplish the following:
Oversee the work of Lab Support personnel including Lab Support Specialists, Specimen Openers and Medical Lab Accessioners
Responsible for facilitating laboratory set up and preparing for deliveries, opening packages and the movement of specimens throughout the lab
Evaluate job performances, mentor staff and develop and implement controls to keep the laboratory running smoothly and efficiently
Plan, coordinate and supervise all functions within the laboratory including Lab Support and Specimen Opening
Provide leadership, guidance, coaching and mentoring for all Lab Support staff including Leads
Responsible for training, scheduling, budgeting, supply maintenance and coordination with department administration and additional laboratory staff
Ensures services being completed are of the best accuracy and are being carried out in an expeditious manner within the standards and guidelines of current accreditations
Understand the flow of the specimen through the lab and how each station influences the flow of the specimen.
Knowledgeable of CAP regulatory requirements and other clinical laboratory audits and procedures
Responsible for learning and staying current on new laboratory procedures and techniques
Responsible for introducing new procedures and techniques to Lab Support staff
Manage all Lab Support employees including managing of time and attendance, work schedules, time off requests, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions
Interview prospective Lab Support employees
Responsible for open communication with other laboratory staff

Bachelor’s Degree preferred
3+ years of supervisory/management experience within a clinical lab, biotech or manufacturing industry highly preferred
Experience managing a large staff (25+)
Lab experience preferred
Knowledgeable in complying with clinical laboratory procedures and HIPAA regulations
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to develop a cohesive team
Must be a mentor, able to teach and be a team player; sets the example for others to follow
