The Department of Pathology is seeking a Part-time Clinical Laboratory Assistant. The incumbent is responsible for the receipt of samples (blood, body fluids, tissues, etc.) and verifying that information on attached requisitions matches specimen container information: i.e., patient identity, demographics and completeness of required information. Resolves any clerical or specimen discrepancies with the appropriate personnel in the appropriate department or physician’s office to ensure that the correct test is performed as ordered on the correct patient specimen. Registration and processing of test orders is accurate and performed in a timely manner according to standard protocols.

The minimum requirements are: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of work related experience required. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule. Proficiency with computers is preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certification may be considered.
