Primarily responsible for phlebotomy procedures including, but not limited to, collection of blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary puncture for use in diagnostic testing, bleeding time test, blood cultures, and blood samples. Will also assist with urine toxicology collections, cleaning of laboratory equipment as necessary, maintaining the quality and integrity of all specimens, and assisting in the clerical duties of the laboratory.
High school diploma or GED with 1-3 months related experience/training. Certified phlebotomy training certificate is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate competency in the collection of blood samples from all patient age groups. Must be able to identify test requested and collect the blood into the appropriate container.
