Qualifications Summary:
Undergraduate student with coursework in biological sciences and/or high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Description Summary:
Will train rats and mice, study behavior actions of the rats and mice with spinal cord injury. Prepares stock solutions. Maintain general cleanliness of the lab. Mixes water and detergents or acids in container to prepare cleaning solution according to specifications. Washes, sterilizes, rinses, and dries glassware, equipment and/or instruments. Scrubs walls, floors, shelves, tables, and sinks. Fills tubes and bottles with specified solutions and apply identification labels. Labels and files microscope slides. Arranges specimens and samples on trays to be placed in incubators and refrigerators. Checks and records temperatures of refrigerators and incubators. Checks and cleans centrifuges. Delivers supplies and laboratory specimens to designated work areas. Cleans, checks and replenishes standard laboratory equipment and supplies and orders new stock of supplies as necessary. Provides clean towels, test tubes, cover slips, filter and lens paper and keeps records of supplies furnished. May perform additional duties as required.
