Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform analysis and support for the laboratory at the Samsung Austin with first priorities to ensure safety and quality of data
  • Ensure safety and all other training is current
  • Perform analyses and ensure accurate evaluation, interpretation, and verification of data (samples, calibration, and quality control) for analyses performed in the laboratory with attention to safety, quality and turnaround
  • Perform calibration and selected preventive maintenance of lab equipment
  • Assist in training of new employees on lab methods
  • Work with laboratory personnel and Samsung contacts to ensure supplies are maintained and instrument maintenance is appropriate for laboratory
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts within the lab and company (method evaluations, quality functions, quality assurance issues, etc.).
General Requirements:
  • Preferred experience (1-2 years) with appropriate instrumentation and data interpretation in a production laboratory environment
  • Good computer skills required (scientific instrument software, Word, Excel, Outlook, LIMS)
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with good communication skills including presentations to customers
  • Must have initiative and be self-motivated
  • Good organization skills
  • Ability to work under time pressure on multiple requests
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to work an off-shift with possible call-ins and overtime
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds with the help of coworkers
  • B.S. in Biology/associated science or previous experience required
