Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of a Laboratory Technician located in Kapolei, Hawaii through February 25, 2012.

Position Details:

This position performs laboratory analysis and technical service work to support Refinery Unit Streams, Refinery Effluent Samples, Finished Petroleum Products, Marketing Samples, Marine Vessel Samples, and Special Plant Samples. The selected candidate will work as part of a Laboratory Team. The Laboratory Department is a Service group providing Testing and Test Equipment Support for the Refinery and Terminals.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Organize, Plan and execute daily work assignments.
  • Follow routine duties, safe work practices and demonstrate safe work behaviors.
  • Prioritize and carry out normal work assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Thrive in a team environment.
  • Periodic overtime is required.
  • Required to work a weekend day per week.
  • Travel not typically required.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Technical , Chemical or Sciences
  • Minimum of 2 years Laboratory Experience
  • Demonstrated excellent documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to follow work direction from others.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate and timely analyses within stringent guidelines and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated computer operating skills.
  • Must have good mechanical comprehension (ex: mechanically inclined).
  • Demonstrated attention to details and ability to determine root cause(s) of test anomalies (ex: diagnosing problems).

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of Petroleum Refinery Lab Work Experience
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Quality Control Processes.

    Relocation will not be considered.

    Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
