Responsible for Business Development activities for the lab and operate the Equipment Certification Lab. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for preparing samples, running a variety of tests, preparing lab billing, entering samples into the sample tracking system, and preparing the lab reports for the customer. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for the safe, environmentally responsible and efficient operations of this lab. Specific Accountabilities
Business Development for the lab
Accounting and invoice generation for the work performed by the lab
Independent operation of the Equipment Certification lab
Ensures integrity of laboratory testing by following established ASTM and API procedures. Ensures laboratory operations remain within the guidelines set forth in the company Lab Safety Plan.
Responsible for analyzing crude oil samples for specific characteristics and quality. Investigates abnormal test results to determine causes for crude oil or product degradation and contamination.
Manages product-testing projects assigned to the laboratory from start through completion.
Trained in radiation safety and assists the company Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). Performs leak testing and radiation surveys on laboratory analyzers.
Orders laboratory supplies and equipment and checks for accuracy and quality of testing equipment before distribution for use at field locations. Researches and tests laboratory analyzers and equipment that may be of current or future benefit to the company.
Instructs and trains company personnel in testing and sampling procedures and in safety and compliance.
Maintaining the laboratory hazardous waste and chemical hygiene program.
Calibrate and verify measurement equipment for the laboratory and Cushing Region.
Associate Degree in Chemical Technology or equivalent.
Four years of relevant experience in pipeline operations, measurement and/or a quality control testing laboratory.
Ability to work independently, good writing skills, and computer skills are mandatory
