Under general supervision, performs general laboratory duties and techniques, ranging from very basic to moderate complexity, such as solution preparation, instrument control and/or calibration, sample dilution, instrument quality control and general laboratory maintenance.
Must be willing to work with biological materials, such as human blood.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
-Support validations including performing testing and analyzing results using statistical calculations
-Presents numerical information by graphs, charts, tables, written reports and other methods.
-Able to select appropriate experimental and analytical methods, define protocols, and schedule tasks.
-Contact primarily with immediate supervisor and other professionals in the group.
-Prepares solutions and performs various laboratory procedures and experiments following established protocols
-Identifies and solves routine problems and discusses non-routine problems with the supervisor
-Maintains accurate, precise and legible laboratory notebooks of work performed
-Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Medical Technology or equivilent
-Position requires some previous exposure to a basic knowledge of laboratory procedures typically acquired through successful completion of degree program, or equivalent, or through on-the-job training
-Must demonstrate ability to read and understand written instructions, and ability to make reasonable interpretation of situations within clearly established job framework
-Ability to work compatibly with co-workers and to respond appropriately to instructions or information from them as required
