Florida Hospital Medical Group (FHMG) neighborhood-based practices are located throughout Central Florida in convenient and easily accessible locations in Lake, Orange, Osceola and Seminole counties. From primary care to robotic surgery and ground-breaking cancer treatment, FHMG doctors and staff provide treatment and care for our patients at their practices and at Florida Hospital's seven campuses in Altamonte Springs, Apopka, Celebration, East Orlando, Kissimmee, Orlando, Winter Park and in Tavares at Florida Hospital Waterman.

Lake County Full Time Float Pool Medical Assistant

General Summary:
The Float Pool full time Medical Assistant will work under the direction of the Staffing Coordinator, Office Manager and/or Clinical Supervisor. This position will provide appropriate care to patients within the scope of the Medical Practice. The Medical Assistant takes history and vital signs and rooms patients.

This position will assist physician in patient education during treatment and examination of patient(s) and administer procedures and treatments as ordered by the physician.

All Medical Assistants will provide excellent patient care to ensure a positive patient experience.

The benefits of working in a full time position in the Float Pool are: the ability to explore over 110 Physician Practices, network and make an impression on colleagues, and gain invaluable experience. This full time Medical Assistant position is ideal for candidates who like the security of having a guarantee of at least 72 hours per pay period and be eligible for full time benefits.

The full time Float employee could be assigned to a practice up to a 2 week period and then be reassigned to another practice up to an additional 2 weeks or could be given daily assignments and float around from practice to practice depending on operational needs.

Full Time Float employees do not have the option to choose/decline assignments until a minimum of 72 hours per pay period has been reached.

The Full Time Float Pool employee is not eligible to apply and transfer for any positions outside of the Float Pool department until successful completion of 6 months of continuous employment with the Float Pool department.

Flexibility and adaptability to change are requirements for a full time employee.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Must be Registered with (AMT) American Medical Technologists or Certified with (AAMA) American Association of Medical Assistants and be able to bring a copy to interview if afforded an interview

Ability to learn new policies and procedures and implement effectively

Ability to be flexible and adapt

Must like a changing environment

Ability to step in and be a team player immediately

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.

Able to obtain accurate temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight.

Maintain and administer prescribed medications

Computer knowledge and experience

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Required Education/Experience:
Must be Registered with (AMT) American Medical Technologists or Certified with (AAMA) American Association of Medical Assistants and be able to bring a copy to interview if afforded an interview

Must have at minimum 2-3 year's infield MA experience, working as an MA

Must be willing to drive to Tavares, Mt. Dora, Eustis, Umatilla

Must be willing to purchase own set of scrubs and required FHMG uniform

Ability to learn new policies and procedures and implement effectively

Ability to be flexible and adapt

Must like a changing environment

Ability to step in and be a team player immediately

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
