The King County Council will hire one Land Use Legislative Analyst at either the Principal (PLA) or Senior Principal (SPLA) Level . Position level will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. See links below for level descriptions and qualifications.

This position conducts and presents policy and fiscal analysis of complex issues and legislation. This position works for the Metropolitan King county council and currently leads land use and growth management-related issues.

In addition to an expertise in policy and fiscal analysis and superior communications skills, the successful candidate should possess a wide range of knowledge related to: land transfers including annexations, purchase and sale of public lands, as well as other forms of municipal contracting; the protection of natural resource (i.e. agricultural, mining and forest) lands, open space and critical areas; regulations affecting land use development and permitting; regional and local comprehensive planning, planning organizations and processes; and utility services including wastewater treatment, water quality, flood control and storm water management. This is a salaried, at-will position, overtime-exempt, and member of the Teamsters Local 117.
