Operates a wide variety of heavy construction equipment on County landfill.
Inspects equipment before usage to ensure safe and proper operation.
Operates and maintains construction equipment and other heavy equipment.
Assists in loading and unloading trucks.
Operates trucks with attachments and other portable equipment.
Performs a variety of manual labor assignments.
Performs basic preventative maintenance service to equipment and trucks as required.
Checks equipment for operational readiness, service and repair.
Assists mechanics in making repairs to machines and equipment as needed.
Completes necessary paperwork.
Trains lower level employees and acts in a "lead" capacity on work assignments.
Utilizes a variety of hand tools.
Performs duties as assigned by supervisor.
High school diploma or GED; three years of experience in the operation of heavy construction equipment, two years of which must have been in the operation of off-road equipment, or a related field. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
