Position Title Available: Team Member
Reports To: Project Manger
This position performs a variety of landscape activities, such as planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, seasonal lawn preparation, and hardscape construction under general supervision. Builds forms for borders and places decorative stone under general supervision. The team member may also operate skid loaders, mini-excavators, and related equipment.
Hours: Capable of arriving at work on time, consistently at 6:50, and willing to occasionally start earlier upon the request of the project manager; 45-50 hours per week.
Aids in project layout with crew leader off of designs provided by our landscape architects.
Performs a variety of landscape and construction activities.
Willingness to learn, including obtaining a CDL at some juncture and the proper techniques for backing up company trailers.
Maintains assigned equipment and notifies the team leader of needed repairs.
Responds politely to client inquires and projects a professional image; no hair below collar, comes to work in provided company uniforms and work boots.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including the work site and equipment.
Maintains a positive attitude; is responsible and productive.
Capable of remaining polite and respectful in the field (i.e. no smoking, no profanity, appropriate attire, etc…)
Capable of planning and operating efficiently (i.e. not making multiple trips from point A to point B)
Capable of working under extreme weather conditions.
Dedicated to delivering a quality product, showing pride in the work of the company.
Ability to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Possess a valid PA driver’s license
Capable of lifting 100 lbs
Possess a mobile phone, or equivalent communication device
Does not use any illegal or controlled substance on or off the clock
Knowledge and Experience
A high school degree or GED is preferred. Experience in the landscaping field is also preferable.
Candidate must be able to read and write.
Plant knowledge is preferred but not totally necessary. Applicants that have landscape or hardscape experience will hold a definite advantage.
