Facilities, Operations and Maintenance Department

Responsibilities:
Responsible for landscaping and grounds maintenance.
May train and assign work to subordinates.
May design and implement beds and borders including recommendations for new planting, replanting and reorganizing existing plans of lawn areas, shrubbery, shade and ornamental trees, and flower beds.
Inspects plants, trees and shrubs for insect pests or disease and takes necessary measures for eradication.
Maintains records and files and submits reports as required.
May develop snow removal plans.
Willing AND physically able to lift and carry items weighing approximately 50 lbs, bend, stoop and shovel in all types of weather.

Minimum Requirements:
Six months of experience working for Idaho State government performing the duties of a Landscape Technician (or Grounds Maintenance Worker); OR have one year of experience in landscaping and general grounds maintenance work; OR have completed a recognized course of study in landscape gardening or landscape design such as a formal vocational training program or a two-year college course in ornamental horticulture or landscape work.

Checklist with supporting documentation. You will receive a score based on your responses. You must receive a minimum rating of 70 to pass this examination. Exam results will be available when the review process has been completed. If you do not Apply Online, you will receive written notification of your exam results.
