We are seeking an Industrial Laser Etching Technician to develop processes and perform etching support using the Telesis FQ10 Laser Etcher:
Job Responsibilities: The Industrial Laser Etching Technician is responsible for the programming, set-up, and operation of the Telesis FQ10 Laser Etcher; and creating laser etch patterns to customer specifications. He/she will perform and maintain QC records and track all production parts from the laser to QA through the shop schedule process milestones to packaging/shipping.
Daily operations include but are not limited to:
Work from blueprints, drawings and sketches involving the use of standard machine shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments. Create laser etching programs, using Merlin II software, and develop required patterns to customer specifications.
Must have experience with laser marking precision machined medical components.
Troubleshoot pattern creations and technical problems with Telesis – FQ 10, Mod 6 Laser.
Must be able to identify material types and alloys using bar stock color codes.
Understand key elements of a blueprint, such as surface finish requirements and geometric & dimensional tolerances.
Must have expertise in the use of standard analog, digital and optical inspection instruments.
Monitor shop schedule for new parts that may need laser etching.
High school diploma required or equivalent experience in mathematics.
Ability to program and operate Laser Etcher.
Prepare processing sheets.
Ability to read and follow blueprints.
Experience with laser marking precision machined medical components.
Experience with the Telesis Laser – FQ 10, Mod 6 Marking System or equivalent .
Attention to detail.
Willing to work 50 or more hours weekly, and potentially two Saturdays per month.
Basic computer knowledge. Familiarity with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Certification or specialized training
AS or BS Degree in any Engineering Discipline or the Physical Sciences.
