Launch Engineer, RF and Communications Systems
Design, install, configure & test site telecommunications systems. This includes operational voice intercom, wireless voice base station, high definition video cameras.
Design, install, configure & test site RF systems. This includes setup and test of site telemetry receivers, spacecraft command transmitters, RF transport systems (open loop, hardline and fiber), and re-radiation systems.
Interface with mission partners to develop and install telecommunications services that furnish voice, video and data providing insight in to Falcon 9 processing and launch preparation.
Serve as the site field engineer for SpaceX tracking antennas at the SpaceX Cape ground station.
Help SpaceX achieve its long-term goal of creating the world’s first fully automated launch system capable of rolling the vehicle to the pad, raising it to position, fueling the vehicle, and executing a full launch sequence within a 1-hour time window.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience or coursework with RF systems
Experience or coursework with communications systems
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience or coursework with FPGAs
Experience or coursework with software defined radios
Experience or coursework with control theory
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
Occasional travel may be required
Significant overtime may be required
