Law Enforcement Officer - Law Enforcement Unit
An exciting opportunity exists within The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland to serve as a Law Enforcement Officer. The successful candidate will provide a safe and secure work environment for Federal Reserve System employees and visitors. Safeguard the Bank and its assets by controlling admission to the building as well as secure internal areas, and by responding to emergency situations including, but not limited to, medical, fire, and robbery. Carry, display, and use firearms and/or other less than lethal devices, in the performance of duties, when necessary, and in accordance with policy.
Control the admittance and departure of employees, visitors, vehicles, and packages to and from the building.Screen employees and visitors, including vendors and contractors, for weapons or other destructive devices using magnetometer screening equipment, wands, x-ray machines, as well as manually searching individuals and packages. Control entry of and screen vehicles entering the Bank premises, such as parking garages, security courts, or assigned valuables handling areas.Conduct security checks throughout the building, check for unusual circumstances, and prepare incident reports. Control the admittance of authorized persons to secured areas by utilizing access cards, video surveillance, computers, alarm, and communications systems. Operate/ monitor sophisticated layered security, fire, and life safety computer systems to identify individuals or activities that jeopardize Federal Reserve property, operations or personnel. Secure facilities through the use of a variety of internal and external fixed and mobile posts in variable weather conditions including snow, cold (below freezing), heat (above 100 degrees) or heavy rain; and under a variety of environmental conditions, for example noise, drafts, and vehicle exhaust fumes. Respond to Bank emergencies including, but not limited to, accidents, criminal offenses, injuries, medical emergencies, disturbances, fires, floods, alarms, contamination threats, protest activities, weather-related emergencies, bomb threats, property damage incidents, and other potentially dangerous situations.Take appropriate action to safeguard Bank property, operations or personnel and secure the area until situations are resolved. Such action may include, but would not be limited to: use of deadly or non-lethal force, performing first aid, basic firefighting, or other emergency procedures, directing employees and other individuals to take action during emergencies, and making arrests. Effect arrests, when appropriate, for violations of federal law that occur in the presence of the FRLEO or for federal felonies that the FRLEO has probable cause to believe are being, or have been, committed on Bank property.Job Specifications:
High school education and formal job-related training
1+ years of related work experience
Basic Analytical Skills
Proficiency with complex business machines (computers, etc.)
Knowledge of moderately complex procedures and practices of a specific function

Minimum Qualifications for Hiring:
Must be a High School Graduate or equivalent
Must have a valid Ohio driver license
Must be eligible to possess a firearm and ammunition
Must not have any disqualifying criminal convictions
Must not have any convictions of domestic violence
Must have been honorably discharged from the military, if applicable
Must pass medical and psychiatric examinations, drug screening, and physical fitness test
