Job Description
THIS POSTING IS FOR A CONTACT POSITION WITH A THIRD PARTY. THIS IS NOT A DIRECT POSITION WITH DEMATIC.

Dematic Corp. has immediate needs in our Grand Rapids, MI location for a Layout Welder. These will be contract positions and the selected candidates will be hired as employees of a third party contract company to fill our short term need.
Layout weldments involving a considerable number of parts and/or smaller more complicated weldments where alignment, dimension, etc., must meet strict inspection requirements. This position will fabricate standard or specially designed products where application of layout techniques is predominate to welding skills. Fit and position parts and sections, clamp or tack-weld same in position. Make frequent checks during welding process as to dimension, irregularities, etc., and take corrective measures when variances occur. Make up welding fixtures to facilitate repetitive production welding. Work from drawings, job layouts and specifications. Use rule, square, protractor, template gauges, etc. Occasionally use metal working machinery. Medium to heavy physical demand. REQUIREMENTS: Must meet qualifications for welding techniques and blueprint reading.
