As a member of the Product Strategy and Marketing team, the Product Strategy and Marketing Lead is responsible for understanding emerging innovative trends and advances within the airline and travel distribution industries and is capable of translating this knowledge into potential new business and product opportunity concepts for ATPCO’s consideration. In addition, the Lead is responsible for planning and implementing product and market approaches for ATPCO products.
In the business development role, this position is responsible for planning, organizing and leading various tasks associated with vetting R&D and New Product Development (NPD) ideas or concepts in both the pre-discovery and discovery stages of the Product Development Life Cycle (PDLC). The Lead is also responsible for planning and organizing activities associated with the enhancement of existing products.
In the marketing role, this position is responsible for the development, planning and execution of the overall product marketing strategy including the product portfolio and go-to-market strategies. The Lead also responsible for developing and communicating ATPCO’s product positioning and value proposition statements.
This position requires a working knowledge of the ATPCO product portfolio and the ability to articulate ATPCO’s overall product strategy both internally and externally including the product suite’s strengths, weaknesses, differentiating features, and how they are used by our customers. In addition, the Lead must be expert in articulating through proposals and presentations, new business and product opportunity concepts to executives, peers, and staff.
The Product Strategy and Marketing Lead directs cross-functional project teams that are responsible for recognizing potential innovative business or product opportunities and completing marketing activities which include market research, analysis, marketing artifacts, competitor scans, market intelligence, product launch/adoption, and monitoring marketing trends.

Experience working in the travel industry
Knowledge of ATPCO products and their function in the travel industry
Knowledge of ATPCO’s Life Cycle of the Fare and how it is applied
Ability to drive business growth through business development, customer relationships, strategic partnerships/alliances, innovation and entrepreneurial vision
Ability to conduct commercial, technical and financial analysis for potential products, services or solutions
Ability to write effective business cases
Abilities in product strategy and marketing including product positioning and value propositions Familiarity with travel distribution technologies
Ability to effectively lead travel industry discussions, on behalf of ATPCO, in any forum for products under manager control (e.g. conferences, working groups)

ATPCO Product Knowledge
Expert knowledge of ATPCO relationship to the travel industry is preferred
Experience with Airline Revenue Accounting, Pricing, Inventory Management or Revenue Management and/or ATPCO products
Bachelors Degree preferably in Business or Computer Science related field or equivalent work experience.
MBA in business and technology, an asset.
Minimum qualifications include 5+ years experience in business development, marketing or strategic planning with GDSs or other travel industry segments
