The Lead Buyer will provide direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Program Management, Marketing, Engineering, and Quality
  • Provide support to Manager on key metrics and project status
  • Work directly with internal and external technical support, utilizing six sigma tools to assure supplier processes and systems are capable of meeting reliability and performance requirements
  • Use e-commerce tools to execute auctions and expedite project implementation
  • Locate, establish, and maintain relationships of the highest degree of integrity with all suppliers
  • Place and expedite purchase orders to meet scheduled demands
  • Identify and qualify sources around the world for components with the key deliverables of quality, on-time delivery, and best price
  • Manage purchase orders to ensure objectives are met regarding On time delivery, inventory, customer emergencies and material availability
    Communicate forecast with suppliers and monitor delivery
  • Be responsible for leveraging cross-location opportunities for supplier rationalization and material consolidation
  • Be responsible for internal and external customer support for emergencies and Out of Services
  • Work closely with suppliers to reduce cycle times
  • Work closely with the Commodity Teams to identify opportunities of cost reduction and supplier consolidation within the Global Supply Chain

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing / materials experience
