To implement USTAPD philosophy at the NTC, directly developing our very best prospects and creating programming for all juniors.
Design junior development programming at the NTC working directly with the best prospects at the center and providing programming structure for all junior development coaches.
Oversee High Performance Summer Camp and advise on Junior’s summer programming.
Create developmental programming that will be utilized at the NTC.
Work cooperatively with the TCE, NTC, Player ID and Under 10 departments.
Create established link between NTC juniors program and the USTA Training Centers in Boca Raton, FL, Carson, CA and NY.
Work with players, coaches and parents throughout the year to enhance the player’s competitive and training environment.
Oversee and participate in intense on court training sessions at the NTC, competitive events or other assigned locations.
Ensure that coaching standards are upheld in the high performance junior development program.
Work closely with Strength and Conditioning coach to ensure HP junior programming is adequate.
Travel with assigned players to events as needed.
Facilitate the interaction among players at the training facilities and competitive events.
Assist in the decisions regarding Player Development Grants.
Assist in wildcard decisions.
Job duties include on court and administrative responsibilities.
Maintain office hours at the NTC, weekend work required.
Create direct and consistent communication with the Manager, TCE and work with Director, NTC.
Extensive tennis background working with players at all levels of the game including, but not limited to, three to five years’ experience as either:
An active player on the professional tour.
An active coach with a documented record of success with top-level players.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work with and effectively manage relationships with players, their parents, coaches and the tennis community as a whole.
Willing to reside in close proximity to the Training Center – East in Flushing, NY.
Effectively manage budget, expense reports and other administrative duties as assigned.
Work successfully in a team environment.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Programs.
Must participate in USTA High Performance Coaching Education Program.
Member of both the USPTA and PTR.
Maintain a high level of personal fitness and professionalism.
Must sign and adhere to the USTA Code of Ethics.
Responsible for all office related communication while traveling.
College degree preferred.
Able to provide references upon request.
