Responsible for performing all aspects of human chromosome analysis in all tissue types with technical expertise using established procedures in the Cytogenetics Section of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Requirements :
Requirements: Clinical Laboratory Supervisor License in the area(s) of responsibility from the State of Florida. Proven ability to perform and evaluate laboratory procedures, guide QC, improve section perfromance and lead staff in daily operations in the assigned areas. Required to lead and design multiple projects as well as coordinate the efforts of several projects. During patient contact, must be able to understand and react effectively to the age-specific needs unique to patients. Requires good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to meet deadlines. Requires discreet handling of confidential information. Must have the manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary to prepare specimens and perform laboratory procedures. Knowledge of and ability to use computers, automated instruments and mechanical apparatus required. Must have the ability to move about the hospital campus. Long periods of standing and/or sitting at instruments or hoods required. Light lifting of reagents and supplies required.
