Faithful+Gould seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our New York City office staff as a Senior Estimator. This person will prepare cost estimates for various estimate disciplines and provide guidance to junior estimating staff. Typical duties include:
Analyzes blueprints and other documents and prepares detailed cost estimates. Responsible to perform accurate quantity takeoffs of available design documents.
Leads the development of consceptual and feasibility cost model estimates utilizing historic benchmarking information and industry experience in order to develop complete early stage cost estimate forecasting.
Obtains accurate and up to date pricing information from databases, contractors, suppliers, etc. to utilize in estimates.
Reviews inputted estimate takeoff information in CATO for specific disciplines in order to provide check to assess accuracy and suitability for project type and specific project requirements.
Reviews and finalizes estimate unit cost pricing to reflect current market conditions and specific project logistics. Review historic benchmark cost information and highlight variances.
Corresponds professionally with architects and engineers for clear understanding of project during preparation of estimate. develop relationships with members of A/E firms and project team members.
Prepares cost reconciliation between two or more estimates, and explain variance cost drivers.
Chanpions delivery of Constructive Expertise at all aspects of project.
Identifies partnership opportunities and capitalizes on "add-on" sales opportunities across projects.
Achieves "add on" revenue goals.
Assists in the identification of strategic accounts.
Works in conjunction with the marketing and business development teams to follow up on business leads.
Grows long-term relationships with clients and key consultants and capitalizes on equity and partnership opportunities.
Maintains awareness of new and emerging industry practices and the potential application on client engagements.
Raises our visibility through involvement in local industry organizations.
The appropriate candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:
Seven-ten years of progressive construction industry estimating experience, preferably in commercial property/building, aviation, or transportation facilities construction.
Bachelor's degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related engineering field. An industry relevant degree is preferred but equivalent experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
Strong skills in CATO, electronic quantity takeoff and Primavera. Knowledge of typical estimating program functionality and related WBS desirable.
Ability to identify and manage staff resources to complete deliverables.
Knowledge of local construction market in area of operation including pricing conventions and trends.
Ability to prepare conceptual cost model estimates from limited information using local historic cost information.

Highly articulate, clear and analytical approach to problem solving.
Thouroughly understands and utilizes Information Technology in the performance of their work including Internet, intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
