The purpose of the Lead Facilities Systems Analyst is to provide expert technical, analytical, functional, systems, and business process expertise for HR&S support and implementation for our Facility Management System.

The Lead Facilities Systems Analyst consults and directs customers in developing technology based solutions to meet business challenges, leads project and program management and designs and implements solutions. They resolve complex issues for HR&S and/or its customers. This position leads design, development, and deployment of HR&S projects.

This position exhibits the highest level of technical and business process expertise and is responsible for ensuring that the support and operation of information and business systems is conducted effectively. The position also completes technical and business related tasks which include technical review, consulting, analysis, and strategic planning. This person is a critical thinker and problem solver, thinks out of the box to deliver effective solutions

Primary Responsibilities

  • Promotes and supports new or improved business technologies by participating in strategic planning, and technology design, development and implementation.
  • Understands the critical business needs and problems of the business. Advocates business solutions and/or initiatives that will move the business closer to achieving its vision, mission, and strategic goals.
  • Maintains an awareness of business process and technology trends and changes. Promotes and supports technologies that will add value and contribute to the success of PPL.
  • Establishes processes or programs to monitor system performance to assure performance indicators and goals are on track and being met.
  • Leads and directs root cause analyses to resolve and permanently correct business system problems and failures.
  • Together with PPL business partners, identifies and benefits from industry best practices by comparing with PPL and implementing changes were needed.
  • Provides diagnosis, analysis, and resolution of business system problems. Develops alternative approaches to solving problems and meeting customer needs.
  • Leads the analysis, testing, and migration of new or upgraded products and technologies.
  • Guides business customers through the process of accurately translating business requirements into system functionality.
  • Provides in-depth expertise and support, including production support for various HR&S functional areas (e.g. Recruiting, Compensation, Talent Management, Training, Facility Management, Electronic Protection Systems, etc.)
  • Key Competencies:

  • Expansive technical and functional knowledge in metrics, data and business intelligence strategies.
  • Provides expert diagnosis, analysis, and resolution of business system problems. Suggests alternative approaches to solving problems and meeting customer needs.
  • Ability to maintain a high confidentiality and maintain sensitive information.
  • Maintains a positive outlook, is able to manage high stress situations effectively.

  • Candidate Qualifications

    Candidates must meet the basic qualifications to receive consideration.

    Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in analytics, informatics, computer science, programming, HRIS, or business applications.
  • 10-15 years’ experience in Human Resource Information Systems, IT, Facility Management systems, Safety, Security or Electronic Protection systems.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Facility Management Systems such as IBM Tririga, Archibus, SAP Asset Management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Facility organizations and support systems.
  • Experience in Capital Management, Facility Space Allocation and CAD.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) or 10 years project management experience.
  • Professional Certification in a technical or business area.
  • Understanding of database concepts and designs.
  • Knowledge of various reporting tools such as: PeopleSoft Query, Crystal Reports, MicroStrategy, Microsoft Office Suite, SQL language.
