We have an opportunity available for a Lead Facilities Technician to join our Facilities team based in Stamford, CT.

Position Summary:

The Lead Technician will assist the Facility Manager with all aspects of facility operations to ensure a safe, secure and stable work environment for all Corporate Office associates. The Facility Supervisor must be proficient in all operating systems of the facility, (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting), and able to ensure optimum operational effectiveness.

Duties, Responsibilities and Expected Contributions

  • Troubleshoot all HVAC equipment issues and interface with HVAC service and repair vendor to maintain top condition of all HVAC equipment
  • Effect repairs where possible to ensure reduced repair costs with HVAC service vendor
  • Management of the Day Porter and Groundskeeper and set their objectives to ensure sanitary conditions inside the building and a “Class A” appearance outside
  • Ensure water supply, heat, hot water, electricity and sewage disposal are operational and functioning
  • Management of outside vendors/service providers
  • Maintenance and repair of office furniture, fixtures and lighting
  • Maintenance of fire and security systems and associated controls
  • Assist with furniture reconfiguration and set up of cubicles/office spaces
  • Assist with conference room setup for meetings.
  • Provide back-office for front office reception as needed which includes mastering of phone system
  • Maintain tools and building supplies in a neat organized fashion and restock as necessary
  • Maintain upkeep of all mechanical rooms and wiring and telephones closets
  • Interface with onsite cafeteria to ensure all systems (cooking and refrigeration) are fully operational and functioning properly
  • Availability to be called on for emergencies or after-hours repairs
· Minimum of high school diploma, higher level education preferred

· Minimum 5 years of facilities maintenance experience required

· Electrician’s license required

· Extensive knowledge of all commercial property systems

· Familiarity with HVAC controls; HVAC certification highly preferred

· Must manage self and time effectively and efficiently

· Able to handle multiple tasks concurrently

· Ability to respond to service requests in an expedient and timely manner

· Must practice excellent communication skill with tenants and management

· Must have good follow though skills

· Ability to work independently

· Excellent communication skills

· Must be diplomatic when responding to all service calls and maintain a sense of urgency with respect to resolution of service issues

· Ability to take initiative to complete jobs without being closely supervised
