Lead Manufacturing Technician Menlo Park, CA
Hands-on Instrument Manufacturing assembly, calibration and troubleshooting.
This position supports all existing and new instrument products and builds inventory to support sales shipments.
This position also serves as technical lead and assists area management in managing workflow and scheduling of the Instrument Manufacturing Technician Group.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Hands-on Instrument Assembly and Bring-up, troubleshooting, and packaging of instrument systems, including optical, mechanical, and computer components. Includes any attendant documentation and record keeping. Includes Manufacturing Order Maintenance in Great Plains.
Technical leadership of Instrument Manufacturing Technicians, Includes maintaining Instrument Manufacturing Work Order schedule, troubleshooting routine instrument procedural and technical issues, and ensuring that manufacturing schedules and status are adequately communicated.
Other duties as required.
Perform Cycle Counting, as required.
High School diploma
Minimum of five years of Instrument Manufacturing in BioTech, Diagnostics, or Medical Device manufacturing.
Minimal of one year experience as Assembly Technical lead.
Technical knowledge and expertise related to electro-mechanical assembly, use of tools, etc.
Knowledge of Great Plains Manufacturing Order entry parts issuance, etc.
Use hand tools and fixtures, software controls, and written procedures to assemble and Bring up instruments.
Operates various equipment including soldering, dispensing and material handling equipment.
Ability to set up and operate Microsoft Windows and Linux based computers.
Ability to assemble miniature optical and electronic components under a stereo microscope.
Ability to follow and further communicate verbal instructions.
Must be flexible and capable of multi-tasking in a dynamic environment.
