Impinj’s hardware engineering team seeks a talented candidate to transition new products from prototypes to full-production as the company's Lead and Manager for New Product Introduction (NPI). This is an opportunity to utilize your expertise in a variety of skills. This role is hands-on, working within and leading a small team. Create detailed plans and track schedules for new product introductions. Interface with CMs, key vendors, and component suppliers/distributers to execute to plan.
Coordinate and lead the technical team supporting activities to bring new products to production.
Use your own skills or source contract services to design PCBA, mechanical product enclosures, and/or production test fixtures.
Define new product qualification and certification plans.
Take responsibility for completing product qualification – ATC, Halt/Hass, regulatory, UL, and other.
Write product reports, procedures, and customer facing documentation/app-notes.
Create, review, and approve release of product drawings (PCB, mechanical, BOM) via automated PLM/ECN systems to contract manufacturers.
Work with operations to select and approve new material, component, and contact manufacturers.
Track costs to hit production cost targets.
Bachelor of Science degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
Proven and successful track record with multiple new product introduction projects.
Design experience in one or more of the following – PCB design (Cadence-Allegro), mechanical design (Solidworks), or BOM management (Arena Solutions)
Knowledge and experience with “box” and PCB level products and technology.
Leadership and interpersonal skills necessary to work cross-functionally.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Experience with RF, wireless, networking, or similar products.
Experience leading development of production test solutions.
