We are seeking a talented Lead Process Engineer, who will report to our Director of Quality Services. The position will be located in Broadview, IL, and will also require frequent travel to our other plant locations.
The talented individual we hire will provide guidance and expertise to requests for operational problem resolution and efficiency upgrades. He/she will provide technical leadership and direction to Plant Managers and their teams to assure application of sound process engineering-related practices in a cost effective manner. The select candidate will facilitate enhancements to manufacturing effectiveness and efficiency, process reliability and product quality. Will provide teaching and training to plant personnel.
The successful candidate will provide counsel to both our wood and steel plants. Provide formal leadership/direction to team members. Develop plans to ensure timely and effective completion of projects within overall plan and budget. Coordinate projects. Recommend and facilitate changes in standard practices and review and analyze results. Review and report on status/progress periodically with management. Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve overall operational performance, and foster LEAN culture throughout the operation.
Bachelor’s Degree required.
10+ years’ process engineering experience required.
Manufacturing supervisory experience preferred.
Lean and/or Six Sigma Certification preferred. ASQ preferred.
Formal training and 'hands-on experience' with LEAN and other continuous improvement theory and techniques (e.g., LEAN Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, Value Stream Mapping, Theory of Constraints, Six Sigma, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM) required.
Demonstrated knowledge in the use of QMS (e.g., ISO-9001) and Product Standards (e.g., UL/CSA/IAPMO) preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Process Control Methods – particularly Process FMEA’s and Control Plans.
Demonstrated knowledge of Certified Quality Engineering Basics.
