POSITION: LEAD PROCESSING TECHNICIAN Full-function hands-on responsibilities as of Processing Tech along with the added functions in leading the Processing, Disassembly and Warehouse Associates in the day-to-day assignment, work flow, and operational procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Lead by example Facilitate efficient staffing through assisting in training, assigning work flow and making recommendations to management regarding performance of warehouse team Assume responsibility for warehouse appearance,and housekeeping Accept responsibility for implementation of safety standards as set forth by management; both in training and in day-to-day operations Protect the company's assets from internal/external theft Preventative maintenance and minor repair of center equipment (baler, conveyor, lighting, plumbing, minor office repairs) Complete detail record keeping of maintenance and repair logs Hazardous material management and detail record-keeping Must obtain CFC Level 1 Certification. (Obtained by taking an open book test, paid for and provided by ARCA upon hire) Remove all capacitors, ballasts, mercury switches, batteries, and other required appliance components, and evacuate refrigerant and oil according to company standards, procedures and safety rules Maintain accurate and complete processing records Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition and report any damage to the Manager Load and unload trucks as needed Keep all tools in secure area and clean workspaces and equipment at the end of the day. Participate in company-sponsored training programs Keep receiving and outgoing areas lanes clear, maintain processing areas with defined walkways, and place appliances in proper areas Will be subject to random drug tests for safety sensitive positions Assume other responsibilities from time to time as directedKNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Skills and Experience High degree of responsibility, dependability, motivation, safety awareness and mechanical ability. Mechanically inclined, comfortable using hand and power tools Flexible to do all jobs (Jack of all Trades) Basic understanding of electrical repairs Ability to read and understand instructions/directions quickly and to apply that knowledge towards repair issues. Forklift experience
Preferred Skills: Supervisory experience in same or like capacity preferred. Ability to perform problem analysis and problem resolution Pleasant, polite manner for dealing with co-workers. Universal or CFC Type1 Certificate. Essential Screening Requirements: Must be able to pass, a company pre-employment physical exam, drug test, and criminal background check. This position is subject to random drug tests for safety sensitive positions. May be required to work overtime due to fluctuations in business volume and staffing. Physical Demands This is a physically demanding position; you must be able to perform strenuous work under varied circumstances. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent, with solid work history. Language Skills Basic understanding of instructions. Able to read and understand MSDSs and acquire the information necessary to safely perform the job duties. Reasoning Ability Ability to organize and prioritize workload; ability to meet deadlines and follow instructions Computer Skills Basic Computer knowledge for research and filing reports Certificates, Licenses and Registrations Universal or CFC Type 1 certification. OR must be willing to take the CFC Type 1 open book test within the 1st 14 days of employment and pass the test. CRITICAL JOB DEMANDS: REPRESENTATIVE MACHINES, TOOLS, EQUIPMENT USED: The following machines, tools, equipment are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. Actual machines, tools, equipment used will vary by center: Personal Protective Equipment including, but not limited to, dust mask, earplugs, gloves, respirator, safety glasses, work boots and back belt. Hand tools including, but not limited to, pliers, drill, saw, screwdriverMachines including, but not limited to, floor jacks, appliance dollies, CFC evacuation machines ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC WORKING CONDITIONS: The following environmental/atmospheric working conditions are commonly, but not always, associated with the performance of this position. The actual working conditions will vary by center warehouse environment including, but not limited to, machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, and fumes. Exposure to residential, industrial and commercial waste. Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions and loud noises. Frequently lift / carry up to 50 pounds. Push / pull up to 100 pounds force. Occasional sitting, overhead reaching, balancing, kneeling, and crawling. Frequent standing, walking, stair climbing, stooping, and firm grasping.
