The Lead R&D Reporting Analyst is responsible for the creation and support of R&D global information reporting. The purpose of the position is to understand what data is important to R&D leaders, understand the inter-relationships and complexities and provide metrics for the division to manage the portfolio.

Leads a cross functional group of Sr. Leaders through the design and development of new reports, data extracts and quality assurance methods to ensure relevance, timeliness and accuracy.

Implements standards for R&D information collection; leading to improved transparency, information access and efficiency in global development budget creation, submission forecasting, and insights into operational execution constraints.

Engineers the integration and design of systems and reporting with other R&D systems (e.g., CTMS, Finance) where appropriate and ensures clean data transfer and/or reporting between and among R&D systems.

Produces, reviews, and publishes reports in an accurate and timely manner for Sr. R&D Leadership that supports the business needs and the ability to make decisions to support the portfolio, staffing and budgets.

Responsible for ensuring information integrity by designing system constraints, creating information workflow processes, and facilitating the resolution of any portfolio data integrity issues.

Propose and define desired R&D strategic capabilities, business scope, requirements, process, and system solutions based on the needs of the organization.

Aligns stakeholders across divisional and regional management to ensure that projects are aligned to facilitate global information sharing in a productive and efficient manner.

Analyzes multivariate (ie. Financial and operational) information and communicates findings to R&D Sr. Leadership management and correlates information with their relevant KPIs.

Minimum of 7-10 years experience in an analytical role, (analyst / programmer, data administration) using a wide-range of methods and tools to collect and analyze large datasets.

Proven proficiency analyzing and building reports from large data sets

5 years in life sciences industry

Experience in project management and strategic planning processes and tools (examples below)

Microsoft Project and Project Server

Relational database (SQL, Oracle, etc…) design and coding

Reporting & Visualization tool development


Bachelors Degree or 10 years of equivalent experience

Experience with heavily matrixed organizations

Superior written, verbal and stand up presentation skills

Proven experience working with all levels in an organization

Manual dexterity required to operate office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, etc.).

Carrying, handling and reaching for objects.

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time while traveling.

Willingness to travel to various meetings or client sites, including overnight trips. Some international travel may be required.

Requires approximately 15% travel.
