Responsible for planning and implementing activity programs designed to promote the physical, social, spiritual and psychological well-being of all residents, based on an assessment of their individual needs and interests, under the direct supervision of the Recreation/Activities Director. Position requires resident assessment, working with care plans, and progress notes. 64 hours per pay period. Will work closely with the director to ensure all MDS assessments are completed in a timely manner, assist with larger facility wide tasks such as organizing projects, taking the lead on projects assigned by the director, and delegating required tasks for such projects to activity staff as needed. Be the go to person for all activity staff, monitor phone messages, and return appropriate messages as needed when director is out of the building. Assist in training new staff to the recreation department.
Skills & Requirements
Ability to effectively and appropriately relate to older adults. Follows oral and written communication. Ability to move tables, chairs and equipment; lift 35 lbs. Ability to use computer. Knowledge of music, crafts, cooking and small and large group dynamics. Performs duties with minimal supervision. Experience working with alzheimers/dementia preferred.
