Acting as the sales team lead and in an individual capacity, generates revenues by promoting the features, benefits and value of the products and services Consolidated Communications Broadband offers through direct (door-to-door) solicitation. Participates in special events such as trade shows, festivals, or demonstrations to promote and sell company products and services.
Motivates, trains, and directs the sales efforts within the team to achieve sales goals. Ensures team?s presence in the field, and audits team?s sales allocation to maintain established sales standards and quotas.
Sells video, data and telephone services through door-to-door solicitation of non-customer households, using in-depth knowledge of Company products and services, handbooks, training guides and product reference files to assist the customer in making appropriate selections. Acts as public representative for the Company, ensuring that the customer understands contract terms and conditions and payment procedures. Exercises constant awareness and knowledge of privacy issues while working with customer records.
Serves as initial contact for members of the public with the Company. Directly interfaces with customers via direct person-to-person contact, multi-line telephone, or written correspondence on all matters relating to provision of video, Internet, and telephony products and services.
Maintains a professional sales posture at all times and actively seeks out sales opportunities. Persuades others to accept a position not previously held or in the face of strong opposition or antagonism. Has responsibility for meeting or exceeding revenue generation quotas specified in the Sales and Compensation plan.
Audits current database records and makes corrections, additions and deletions as verified through door-to-door sales efforts.
Uses computer to access information for system price quotations. Maintains files of customer records, pending quotations, and other pertinent material. Accurately completes all contracts on a timely basis.
Responds to customer complaints and resolves them. Solves problems under existing general policies by using computers to access customer records, research the problem and develop solution(s). Immediately notifies supervisor(s) of any potential problem areas discovered or suspected with any priority and/or major account. Reports all competitive sales information available to appropriate personnel. Decisions impact multiple departments.
Prepares daily activity report from prior day's activities.
Maintains a daily agenda, through the use of software applications or other effective time management and scheduling tools.
Reviews returned mail and correspondence, making customer contact when necessary, in person, by mail or multi-line telephone.
Demonstrates products and services at trade shows located at various sites in the Sacramento metropolitan area. Communicates with customers or potential customers, answering questions about Company products and services.
Attends local training sessions for new systems or service and/or upgrades, as required.
Attends weekly sales meetings and various Company meetings as required.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by Sales Supervisor including customer account research, special reports and projects.
Travels within local area, using ground transportation. Travel may encompass more than one day, including weekend days.
Reports for work on time and maintains a satisfactory attendance record.
Technical training or knowledge: Knowledge of Cable TV, Satellite Programming, Internet providers and telephone products and services. Must have basic keyboard knowledge and proficiency with word processing software, good grammar and verbal skills, and an ability to work independently, yet thrive in a team-oriented culture.
Professional training or knowledge: Clear understanding of the principles of selling and ability to skillfully apply the knowledge. Ability to close sales, while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction.
Work experience: Two to Three years of experience in direct or retail sales management and a Minimum of two (2) years experience in direct or retail sales in the Cable TV, Internet, or telephone industry.
License required: Valid PA Driver's license. Must have clean DMV record and auto insurance coverage.
General education or equivalent: High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor?s degree in Marketing or Business Administration preferred.
Physical Demands: Physical demands are minimal and generally consistent with the performance of routine sales duties. Some of the day is spent sitting at a desk, working with computers, printers, files, and standard office equipment. Some of the day is spent walking, standing, and occasionally bending, stooping and sitting. Additionally, this position requires traveling by personal or Company vehicle, sometimes in inclement weather, to meet with customers. Movement is required in the use of office equipment, supply locations, files, and other work locations and meeting rooms. Lifting, generally less than 20 pounds occasionally required for transporting boxes, materials to and from vehicle. May be required to work weekends and holidays.
