Under the direction of the Operations Manager this role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Linden 1-5 Plant. This includes Scheduling and Management of all site Operational Inspections/Testing, Operations Communications, Plant Equipment Monitoring Logs, Site Operations support to VFT coordinator, NERC Compliance, and Demineralization Plant Operations.

Essential Responsibilities
In addition, in this role you will:
  • Support the operation of the facility to meet contractual efficiency and availability obligations
  • Oversee the Site’s NERC Compliance Program
  • Supervise the monitoring of plant equipment including inspections and testing per the original equipment manufacturers guidelines
  • Supervision of the Linden 1-5 and Linden 6 operations Teams
  • Support Operations Manager day to day responsibilities
  • Submit and manage all phases of the Linden 1-5 annual operational budget including the planning and scheduling of all inspections/testing, equipment upgrades and demineralization plant operation
  • Oversee the forecasting, purchasing and scheduling of all necessary fuel (Natural Gas/Butane) on a daily/weekly/monthly basis
  • Forecast and submit available merchant power for NYISO daily bidding schedule
  • Oversee and review daily and monthly operations reports
  • Support the annual summer and winter capacity testing for submittal to NYISO
  • Submit GADS data to PJM and NYISO on a monthly basis
  • Review, maintain and update all site operational procedures and technical manuals
  • Maintain all environmental and operating logs/records as per the Quality Assurance Program
  • Supervises all contractor operational activities
  • Complete the routine inspections and assigned tasks to support the site Discharge, Prevention, Containment and Countermeasures (DPCC) Plan as well as handle all hazardous materials and wastes in a safe and environmentally sensitive manner
  • Aggressively maintain a safe working environment to include good housekeeping practices of assigned work area and comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety policies
  • Completes all administrative functions required within scope of department as necessary including updates to operations manuals, logs/records to be maintained throughout shift, schedules, special projects, inventories, parts tracking, etc
  • Keep management informed of operations and maintenance issues identified through web casts, conference calls, emails, and meetings

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work on feet for up to 12 hour periods, requires stair and ladder climbing sometimes in excess of 100 feet. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high voltage protective equipment, safety shoes, etc.).
  • Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, work load and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
  • All employees participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes post-offer physical examinations and drug screening. WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Qualifications/Requirements
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • New Jersey Stationary Engineers License 1-C or greater
  • Minimum of 6 years of Power Plant Operations experience at supervisory level ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Intimate with all phases of GE 7FA/7EA/GE Medium Steam Turbine-Generator operations
  • Total Power Plant systems operations experience
  • Familiar with GE MK VI turbine control logic including LCI and EX-2000 systems
  • Ability to interpret electrical, electronic and piping/instrument drawings

  • Proficient with DCS control system and control logic interpretation
  • Proficient with Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems
  • Familiar with SCADA operation
  • Familiar with Electrical Protective Relaying
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
