Job Overview The major objective for this position is to lead a team of pipeline engineers working on flowline engineering for various subsea field development projects. It is important that the Lead have familiarity with pipeline engineering related software and also be able to train graduate engineers for the design of flowlines and field development best practices which would include jumpers, in-line sleds, flowline end terminals, etc. Part of this objective will include preparation of engineering documents, calculations and specifications within project schedule. Roles & Responsibilities This position requires leading the team in harmony, providing guidance to the team, especially graduate engineers, to develop the project documents and review of these documents for correctness, quality and accuracy. This position requires interfacing with other disciplines and groups within the company and with the Client team. The primary deliverables or results associated with this task are to ensure quality, and schedule for the deliverables which should be as agreed with the project manager. In order to meet the overall objective it is important to define the basis for engineering and design within the first month of project schedule so that the team is aware of the engineering parameters. This involves documenting the parameters for pipeline engineering tasks. The key to success is consistency throughout the project. As the Lead Pipeline Engineer, you will deliver project documents to the client and provide the technical skills that are required for other pipeline related activities such as surveys, fabrication and installation. Typically, the Lead Pipeline Engineer has the responsibility to direct the team of pipeline engineers and designers. In addition, the person will work closely with a subsea systems and controls engineers, the project manager, project services, quality assurance, document control and members from Wood Group Kenny sister companies. Experience Required It is expected that the Lead Pipeline Engineer will have a degree in Engineering and be experienced with subsea pipeline software such as Offpipe, Orcaflex, and AGA, used to perform calculations and be capable of reviewing the team's calculations.
