The Processing Services group provides support for Debit Processing Services. The team focuses on projects that protect Visa's core business/brand, deliver cost efficiencies and increase corporate effectiveness through the use of standardized project management practices and decisive leadership. The ideal candidate will be an individual contributor who has experience communicating with both business staff and developers and translating requirements into solution approaches. S/he must be able to collaborate with others to manage and rationalize incoming requirements in order to identify appropriate integration patterns for application development. This individual must be an effective communicator with strong negotiating and influencing skills. S/he must be very precise in their ability to create artifacts as needed for business and technical audiences including use cases, conceptual approaches or requirement artifacts
Contribute to complex open-systems development proposals and projects by working with cross-functional teams and global business owners to elicit and manage requirements for implementation of custom or packaged solutions for large multi-year/multi-million dollar projects. Includes extensive interaction with the business customers, architects and development leads to translate business objectives into technical requirements and provide oversight, as needed, through project completion to confirm implementation of documented requirements.
Write artifacts using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely for both business and technical audiences.
Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, with an appropriate level of detail (specifically not Design or Architecture). Define quality attributes, external interfaces, constraints, and other nonfunctional requirements. Represent requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios.
Abstract detailed information into management presentations for large scale delivery project challenges, intersections and/or architecture.
Manage scope including changes to baseline requirements through effective application of change control processes and tools. The ability to clearly articulate differences between missed requirements and incremental scope to business customers and development staff is essential.
Participate in peer reviews and provide meaningful feedback to ensure requirements were interpreted correctly within cross-functional artifacts created by Project Management, Development, Quality Assurance and User Acceptance testing resources.
Build and maintain relationships with global and virtual customers, teams and third parties on software development or support issues.
Support and deliver on initiatives from the Business Plan and Technology Strategy leveraging architectural principles for appropriate systems integration or reuse.
-Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience,
-Proven business processes analysis skills: gathering business requirements, drafting system requirements and specifications; Strong follow-through, ability to drive to closure and resolution of complex system issues.
-Technology or financial services experience ideal
-Well-honed interviewing skills; able to ask the right questions to elicit essential information
-Creative thinking and approach, essential to collaboration with Visa customers, Product offices, CTO office, and Account Management, etc. to determine solutions that further the business and align with business plans and technology strategies, keeping in mind reliability, security, flexibility, and cost.
-Solid listening skills; able to understand what people say and to detect what they might be hesitant to say
-Outstanding analytical skills; able to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements
-Very strong facilitation skills; able to lead requirements elicitation workshops and meetings
-Keen observational skills; able to validate data obtained via other techniques and expose new areas for further research
-Ability to represent technical and business issues and solutions to multiple levels internally and externally to support strategic organizational plans.
-Highly effective writing and communication skills; able to dispense information effectively to business or technical staff across the organizational layers from senior management to development offshore staff
-Excellent organizational skills; able to work with a vast array of information and able to cope with rapidly changing information
-Interpersonal skills that lend themselves to effectively negotiating priorities and resolving conflicts among project stakeholders (such as customers, product management, and development) with disparate viewpoints
-Modeling skills; able to represent information in graphical forms that augment textual representations in natural language
-Undergraduate degree required; advanced degree a plus
