Salary Range: T14, $17.85 - $23.20

CLOSING DATE: 05/23/12

There are two positions available

LOCATION: Dulles Toll Road Operations, MA-240, Toll Plaza, McLean, VA

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Airports Authority Employees and Outside Candidates

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Leads toll operations and Toll Collectors for a designated shift by serving as the leader of (a) Toll Collectors stationed at the Main Toll Plaza or (b) Toll Collectors stationed at other toll booths. Briefs incoming Toll Collectors, which may include passing on revised policies or procedures, and gives their assignments. Inspects duty area for cleanliness, hazards, proper lighting and preservation of security. Enforces all safety rules. Assures that Toll Collectors follow established policies and procedures. Verifies that lanes are properly configured at all times to enable proper vehicle classification, accurate revenue collection, and logging on and off of duty assignments. Investigates equipment malfunctions and reports to the Control Room. Ensures completeness and accuracy of Daily Log entries. Reviews and approves Toll Collector mileage sheets. Renders assistance to users and addresses their concerns or complaints. Monitors Toll Collectors’ cash trays to ensure that requisite coin and currency levels are maintained. Monitors Toll Collector exchanges of funds with Finance Division, as required. Ensures that any cash variances, discrepancies or anomalies are reported immediately. Assists Toll Collectors in their performance of self-audits and declaration of overages or shortages.

Participates with other shift leaders in preparing and adjusting schedules for toll collection operations, including need for extra staff or overtime. Maintains contact with Control Room. Coordinates with the Toll Collector Supervisor, the Toll Collector Group Supervisor, the Manager, Operations, Technology and Maintenance Division, or the Manager, Toll Road Operations Department, as appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Three years of general experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and demonstrates their ability to be successfully trained for the particular tasks involved. To be qualified, the experience on your application must support the minimum qualification requirements of the position and demonstrate that you possess:

Candidates must be available to work rotating shift, including weekends, and holidays

Cash collection and handling experience

Answer customer complaint

Ability to communicate effectively both oral and written

Computer proficiency with primary emphasis on office organizational tools (Power Point, Internet, E-mail, task tracking, and calendar functions), spreadsheets (Excel), databases, and word processing (Microsoft Office product suite)

A valid State driver’s license

Supervisory experience preferred
