The Learning and Development Manager will be responsible for the design, delivery and implementation of training and development for staff, including New Hire Onboarding, Management Training, and on-going staff development. You will work closely with department heads to evaluate skillset gaps within the agency and make recommendations for functional skills training. This
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Plan training programs including classroom style, simulations and experiential training, group discussions, team exercises and video/online learning, workshops and social learning experiences.
Design training materials; instructor guides, learning plans and templates, workshop resources and support materials.
Manage the content on the LMS, ensuring the most relevant and up to date learning plans and training resources are available for employees.
Evaluate the effectiveness of delivered programs; communicate results and recommendations for improvement.
Work with Department Heads to understand skillset gaps; research and compile information to make training and development recommendations based on staff needs and departmental and agency goals.
Assist with preparation and design of discipline specific and functional skills training classes; partner with external vendors as necessary.
Actively participate in industry events and organizations; be a champion for agency and employee involvement.
Stay abreast of current trends in adult learning programs and technology-based solutions to maximize operational efficiencies.

This position may h ave direct and indirect reports
- Ability to travel overnight up to 10% to our NY and LA offices to conduct training
Master’s degree or equivalent experience, preferred
Years of Relevant Experience
3 – 5 years of experience with curriculum design, development of organizational leadership programs and performance consulting in a professional environment.
Experience building presentations, conducting web-based and traditional classroom training
High level PC and software and learning management system skills (ideally -- SumTotal technologies, PowerPoint, Prezi, and Articulate.
