SUMMARY: The Learning Leader II works with employees and managers to support the commitment of continuous learning at GMCR. This work includes instructional design, facilitation and program management of training programs based on task analysis, needs assessment, and business strategy. The Learning Leader II establishes and maintains relationships with both external (vendors, consultants, etc.) and internal training resources. The Learning Leader is a member of the Continuous Learning team and is responsible for performing other related departmental functions. This Learning Leader position will have a primary curriculum focus of Coffee and Ingredient Processing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : None

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop curriculum based through a structured instructional design process (analysis, design, development, evaluation) in order to meet business needs.
  • Assists in the development and coaching of internal employees and other trainers.
  • Schedules, organizes, and facilitates training events and programs in multi- site locations.
  • Monitors and reports effectiveness of training.
  • Create performance support solutions by working closely with functional departments.
  • Travels monthly within Vermont and to other GMCR sites across the US and North America. Some alternate shift support (outside M-F 8-5) may be expected.
OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS:
  • Educates internal and external customers on training procedures and processes for tracking learning time.
  • Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by GMCR and the department.
  • Performs other related duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelors Degree in a related field required.
5-7 years of proven instructional experience in classroom, e-learning, and on the job training.
Experience in large scale coffee processing (green bean, roast, grind, and flavoring) preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design, and related technologies.
Experience in selecting, managing and evaluating learning external learning faculty and vendors.
Demonstrated knowledge in performance support and ability to provide learning solutions that meet strategic business objectives.
Experience working in a matrix organization with multiple location responsibility is preferred.
Demonstrated desire to improve safety, quality and environmental performance and spread enthusiasm for these programs in the coffee processing area.
Ability to identify and solve problems and apply analytical skills to create continuous process improvement.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively while managing resources to ensure positive outcomes.
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (50% - 100% of the workday).
An offer of employment for this position will be contingent upon the individual successfully completing a pre-employment physical, as provided by a GMCR selected physician. This individual will also be required to authorize GMCR to run a Criminal Background Check. The examination and criminal background check must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
