Nemours is seeking a Learning Management System Administrator to join our Learning Services team in Wilmington, Delaware.

To keep pace with the changing health care environment and build a healthier future for our children, Nemours has embarked on a multi-phase expansion to create a children’s hospital like no other in the region. Upon completion in June 2014, the hospital will include private, family-centered, technologically advanced patient rooms, a new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a new expanded Emergency Department.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day functionality, administration and maintenance of the Nemours Learning Management System (LMS). This position, which reports to Learning Services, will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and improving the learning management system, including integration of third-party content, development of custom reports, and integration with virtual learning/social learning platforms. The person in this role will obtain a deep understanding of all components, features and functions of the LMS. The LMS administrator will interface with all Learning Services team members and will work closely with the Service Desk, Application Development, Enterprise Intelligence, Quality and Regulatory, internal clients and external training providers.

The LMS Administrator will demonstrate excellent customer service that promotes patient, staff and customer satisfaction and reflects the Mission, Vision and Values of Nemours. Skills needed to successfully perform this position are the abilities to manage resources prudently, prioritize, make decisions, handle problems in a calm responsive manner, and learn quickly and independently. This person must work collaboratively and be detail-oriented, organized and an excellent communicator – verbally, written and interpersonally. This person must increase job knowledge through independent study and formal education with a willingness to perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Provide technical support for the LMS interfacing with the LMS provider and hosting vendor.
  • Maintain data integrity and processes such as curriculum, certifications, course descriptions, course changes, assignment of course categories, notifications, etc.
  • Manage account creation processes for employees, contractors, residents, students, etc., granting additional permissions to instructors and other administrators as necessary.
  • Support the creation, management and enforcement of LMS system global standards, policies and procedures.
  • Upload, test and deploy content created by Nemours users and other third parties.
  • Report on LMS usage, user feedback and training status. Produce reports for management and mine data as appropriate. Develop and distribute training reports, and create specifications for standard and ad hoc system level reports.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Mentor and coach Learning Services team members and Service Desk personnel to effectively use and support the LMS.
  • Act as a consultant to clients seeking learning solutions and recommend appropriate educational strategies.
  • Collaborate with Nemours IS staff and application support in recommending and implementing system upgrades and modifications.

  • Requirements:
    • B.A. or B.S. in IT or Computer Science.
    • Minimum 3-5 years job-related experience.
    • Experience in a corporate setting, preferably health care.
    • Learning Management System experience required.
