Champlain College seeks a qualified individual to coordinate the migration of course materials from the College’s current LMS (Angel) to a new LMS (Canvas). This individual will work on ensuring that the migrated courses provide access to the same content as the original courses while taking advantage of new features in the new LMS. The individual will personally migrate a caseload of courses and coordinate the work of a team of migration specialists to migrate approximately 350 courses.
The migration coordinator is responsible for all stages of the migration process including:
in a timely manner
- Coordinating the work of the migration specialists
- Assist in the development of migration procedures
- Implementing content in Canvas
- Ensuring quality control for migrated courses
- Work with the Production Coordinator to ensure that migrated courses enter the production phase
This is a temporary position for up to one year.
- Working with others to ensure that the migrated courses meet defined requirements
- Migrating individual courses
- Maintaining careful documentation and notes throughout the process
This position requires careful attention to detail; and excellent file management, documentation, project management, writing, editing, collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to effectively complete tasks and projects on time and on budget is required. Basic HTML skills are also required. The finalist should have a strong technical background and experience with content management systems, preferably using LMS platforms in a higher education or corporate setting. Experience with Canvas and online development/production best practices in higher education are preferred, as is expertise with multimedia editing tools and experience creating accessible and usable web pages. A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience being a part of and coordinating technical projects is required.
