JOB DESCRIPTION: The Learning Resources Specialist performs a variety of patron contact duties including: actively assisting patrons with finding library materials including print, electronic, and online resources, assisting patrons in using technology and library computers, handling all circulation duties including maintaining overdue/holds files, operating and maintaining interlibrary loan service for patrons, assisting with collection maintenance and cataloging duties, and instructing patrons in the use of resources across formats and platforms. The Learning Resources Specialist usually serves as the first point of contact for patrons and exhibits excellent customer service while performing all work duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A.A. degree minimum. Two years of current library experience in circulation, reference, or adult services. Must possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to work well with diverse populations. Proficient in Windows, MS Office Suite, Internet browsers, library databases, and search engines. Effective oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to work independently. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Occasional long and irregular hours necessitated by special projects and compliance with deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree; Experience with interlibrary loan service; Experience using automated library systems; Knowledge of Auto-Graphics ILS preferred; Experience with cataloging according to national standards; Experience in providing reference assistance and patron instruction; Library experience in an academic library setting.
SALARY: Salary competitive (Based on level of education, skills and experience). Benefits include health, life, & dental insurance, LTD, & benefit package in accordance with Colorado Community College and Occupational Education System policies. No relocation assistance is provided.
