Overview/Risks:

JOB OBJECTIVES AND SCOPE

The Learning Specialist is primarily responsible for training delivery, LMS (Learning Management System) administration, and all administrative activities associated with the Training. The incumbent is required to function in a fast paced, team centered working environment, within a highly regulated organization. The incumbent may conduct classroom training, identify appropriate external resources for training, develop curriculum, and administer the Tuition Reimbursement Plan as well as the Service Award program.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist with the identification of training needs to develop a Training Calendar and to facilitate the Annual Training plan

2. Develop course curriculum, in-house and virtual training, employee development classes and management training programs for companywide staff

3. Monitor training activities to ensure training is effectively planned and implemented

4. Provide effective stand-up and virtual training using multi-media technologies

5. Schedule events, programs, activities and classes including handling all logistics and audiovisual equipment, including the physical set-up of the classroom

6. Develop or obtain training procedure manuals, guides, course material and deliver to staff as necessary

7. Support and provide guidance to the organization’s internal trainers in evaluating training materials and measuring training delivery effectiveness

8. Manage all aspects of LMS administration including but not limited to LMS logistical requirements which include updating dashboards, handling registration and rosters of activity, auditing compliance training, preparing reports for management. Also, monitor data entry and conduct training using the LMS application. Ensure training records are kept up-to-date, i.e. entering, transcribing, recording, storing

9. Responsible for regulatory compliance of training files and records for all MTF employees

10. Discuss educational opportunities with employees and handle employee requests for tuition reimbursement

11. Track employee length of service dates and order the appropriate awards to ensure accurate distribution

12. Design and provide executive summary and Ad-Hoc reports, as requested

13. Identify and utilize all external free training opportunities. Identify and present sources of grant funding opportunities to Talent Management Director for review and possible application

14. Assist with marketing of training activities and promote training opportunities. Maximize the attendance and return on training investment. Ensure reminders, alerts and training availability is communicated appropriately

15. Establish and maintain relationships both internally and externally, especially with training suppliers in order to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships

16. Keep technical knowledge up-to-date and apply this new knowledge to your job, e.g. recommend process/system improvement upgrades

17. Evaluate, monitor and assess the value, importance and quality of training events, materials, audio-visual equipment, and structural environment to determine:
  • Compliance with laws, regulations and/or standards
  • Detect cause of errors and assess possible problems or defects.
  • Determine best alternative for presentation
  • Consistently strive to improve the measurement and process effectiveness of training delivered


  • 18. Assists on special projects and performs additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

    Education:

    Bachelor’s degree

    Experience:

    5+ years of progressive experience in training and development or an equivalent combination of education/experience in a regulated environment (GMP, medical device, ISO, Corporate)

    Specific Licenses and/or Certifications:

    Specialized Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

    Presentation and facilitation skills

    LMS administration

    Project Management experience

    Strong communication and good interpersonal skills

    Superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

    Knowledge of multi-media technology

    Highly attentive to details

    Excellent Communication skills with internal (all levels) and external individuals and ability to provide information via in-person, telephone, written forms and e-mail.

    Ability to actively listen

    Excellent time management skills required. Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish duties and responsibilities

    Work Environment:

    25% domestic travel required
