Position Summary:
The University of New Mexico, Valencia Campus is accepting applications for Lecturer I, II or III, ESL Instructor. This is a part-time, .5 FTE, 12-month, non-tenure track position. The position may begin as soon as July 1, 2012.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch campus of the University of New Mexico. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers vocational and technical courses as well as academic transfer courses to the citizens of Valencia and northern Socorro counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of approximately 2,000 each semester.
Summary of duties and responsibilities: UNM Valencia Adult Education Center is seeking an innovative lecturer at .5 FTE to teach ESL and prepare students to transition into post-secondary education and/or employment. In addition, this faculty member will assist with assessment, professional development and reporting. Contributions to distance learning may also be required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors Arts in TESOL, English or a related field and 3 years experience in adult basic education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience planning and presenting professional development sessions.
Experience in program improvement as it relates to instruction.
Experience leading and/or supervising other instructors.
Experience integrating technology into the classroom.
Knowledgeable about current developments in the field of adult basic education.
