Southern Polytechnic State University ( SPSU ) invites applications for two full-time Physics Lecturers, beginning August 2013.
Southern Polytechnic State University, a member of the University System of Georgia, is a residential university with approximately 6,200 students pursuing bachelors and masters degrees in many of the nation’s fastest growing technology fields. The university, located one mile west of 1-75’s Exit 263, is just 20 minutes northwest of downtown Atlanta. Southern Polytechnic is an EOE / ADA /AA Employer.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach standard introductory calculus-based and non-calculus-based sequences, and the related labs and recitations.
Desirable Knowledge, Abilities & Skills
Applicants must have a minimum of a M.S. degree in Physics or closely related field.
Previously documented teaching experience is preferred.
As part of the interview process, the search committee will ask the candidate to present a lecture to students in an introductory physics course. The screening committee will consider feedback from both students and faculty.
